How will I benefit from attending a Support Group?
People join carer support groups for a variety of reasons – to meet new people and share experiences with like-minded people, to get some time out of the house and to take part in activities they enjoy.
Since the outbreak of Coronavirus outbreak many Carers are unable to have the opportunity for ‘time-out’ as they had previously enjoyed. Support Groups are still available, albeit mainly virtually so that you can still benefit from feeling less isolated and alone. A lot of Carers prefer online support groups as any free time is not eaten into by travelling to face to face support groups.
Carers groups now online
Many Carer support groups are now online and are usually delivered by Zoom. It can be quite daunting using Zoom for the first time. If you would like to find out more about the group you are interested in, please feel free to contact the organiser and have a conversation.
